As a transfer student majoring in Multi Studies in Tourism and Hospitality, I strive to make a difference for the next generation of students at the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple through my service as a student leader and worker. Through obtaining new experiences in the hospitality and sporting industries, this has inspired me to continue learning and volunteering; which is critical towards improving future events and enabling our guests to live in the moment through their memorable experiences. As a student leader, I serve as the Vice President of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, the Vice President of the Tourism and Hospitality SPO, the Vice President of Event Management for Young Skal, and the Graphic Designer for Active Minds. Along with my leadership experiences that I have at Temple, I am the Honorary Member of the Hospitality and Culinary Club at Delaware County Community College. Outside from being a student leader, my current jobs include being a Marketing Promotions Assistant for the Philadelphia Flyers and a Peer Mentor for disabilities for the College of Education and Human Development at Temple.
I was inspired to major in hospitality at 17 years old through my love of watching Hell’s Kitchen. As I started to learn more about hospitality management through Hell’s Kitchen, I started watching Top Chef, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Next Level Chef, Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, and Kitchen Nightmares, which has expanded into my knowledge of succeeding in the hospitality industry, while being able to work towards serving the people that are in my community. However, my passion for sports started in middle school, as I played basketball with my friends and was able to find a connection with sports at an early age. Furthermore, gaining experience in the sporting industry has led me to volunteer for the Philadelphia Eagles and to fulfill my role with the Philadelphia Flyers. Therefore, starting your career journey is more connected towards drive, passion, humility, dedication, leadership, commitment, and strong persistence.
